Manistee Trail Backpacking Trip
September 27-28, 2008
Meet at Family Fare Parking Lot at 7:45 a.m. for 8:00 a.m. departure on Saturday, September 27, 2008.
Returning on Sunday, September 28, 2008 at approximately 2:00 p.m.
Cost for the trip: $5.00 to cover the cost of transportation
Scouts going on this trip will be responsible for providing their own food and packing it in their backpack along with all of the other equipment they
will need for an overnight backpacking trip. Tents and cook stoves will be available to bring along for those that need them.
You will need to bring:
* food for lunch, dinner and snacks on Saturday and breakfast and lunch on Sunday
* Sleeping bag
* Mat for underneath the sleeping bag
* change of clothes
* Mess kit
* Water bottles
* Good hiking shoes and socks
Remember, anything that you bring, you have to carry. Part of backpacking is planning meals that you can eat on the trail that are easy to prepare and provide energy and nutrition for the trip.
